General Job Description
This intern will be a part of the Communications Department, working in support of one or more projects and campaigns. This body of work includes assisting with web, print, audio, video research, writing, and production. Successful applicant will be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects, be experienced with working on deadlines, and have ability to work collaboratively with two or more departments and multiple team members. Interest in environmental journalism and web skills considered a plus for this position.
The intern may have the opportunity to represent PAN North America at local tabling events or may be asked to communicate with PAN affiliate organizations on behalf of the program or campaign in which s/he is involved.Links to More Information on this Project

Conduct research and write on various topics related to PAN work, including work with media contacts, fact checking and editing.

Create documents for and assist with web production.

Assist with logging and maintaining PAN image and audio library.

Assist with maintaining hard copy print media hits.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong interest in public information outreach to large audience
- Ability to work both independently as well as in an active group
- Ability to keep work organized for efficient use by future interns and staff
- Experience working in fast-paced team environment
- Experience in journalism
- Editing and documentation skills
- Web production skills
- Audio and video production skills
- Research experience, especially in scientific literature

Time requirement: A minimum commitment of 20 hours per week is required.
Location: The PAN office in San Francisco, less than one block from the Powell Street BART station.
