We have astaff of approximately 25 and share office space with two otherorganizations: Californians for Pesticide Reform and Earth Share ofCalifornia. Pesticide Action Network North America (PANNA) is one offive regional offices making up the international Pesticide ActionNetwork. Approaching its 25th anniversary PANNA is an internationallyrecognized nonprofit working at local, state, federal, andinternational levels.
General Job Description
Thisposition is located in San Francisco and is an excellent opportunity togain experience working with professional staff in a dedicatedfast-paced Development Department. The Development Intern reports tothe Membership Coordinator and works closely with other members of theDevelopment Department and Administrative staff on various aspects ofMembership processing, special events (25th Anniversary), BusinessSupporter research and proposals, State registration, Earth Shareregistration, database entry, grants and Foundation research, majordonor prospecting, and direct mail appeals.

Responsibilities
- Update and maintain donor information in the development database. This includes making address changes, linking donor records, combining duplicate records, identifying and correcting data entry errors.
- Use online resources for donor and event research.
- Assist with State and Campaign registrations.
- Assist with Foundation and grant research and proposal writing.
- Assisting with Business Supporter research and proposal writing.
- Assist in other department and office activities, as needed.
Qualifications
- Well-organized and able to manage details efficiently;
- Ability to work both independently and with supervision;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Computer proficiency (we are all Mac OSX); must have database (FileMaker Pro preferred) and MS office (Word and Excel) and Internet experience;
- Excellent communication skills, including strong proofreading and editing; and
- Previous administrative experience, interest in development activities, and commitment to progressive causes desirable.
