This preventable disease kills almost one million people every year, with 80% of the deaths occurring among children in sub- Saharan Africa. The U.S. has increased support for the battle against malaria in recent years, but must do a better job supporting sustainable solutions—approaches that effectively combat malaria without putting human health or the environment at risk.
