Groups Oppose 2,4-D-Tolerant Corn

Opponents of Dow AgroSciences LLC's application to move a 2,4-D-tolerant corn to market are making a last-minute push to convince USDA to reject the proposal for fear the product could lead to increased use of a chemical widely used by farmers.

The public comment period ends Friday for Dow's application on the genetically engineered corn that is tolerant of the herbicide. So far the proposal has garnered hundreds of thousands of public comments.
