Jane is a farmer currently working at a small orchard in Watsonville, CA. While earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the College of Charleston, her study of social stratification peaked her interest in the food system at large. Once she began farming, for education at first, she just couldn't get enough. After several seasons of production farming on the East Coast , Jane came to the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she received an Advanced Certificate in Ecological Horticulture. There, she had the great pleasure of working as both a farmer and educator for several years. Jane has a strong passion for bridging the gap between practitioners and institutional players, and she will be focusing her work at PAN on connecting with farmers about farm policy shifts and opportunities.
