California’s approval of bee-killing pesticides challenged

California’s practice of approving new agricultural uses for neonicotinoid pesticides despite evidence that they are devastating honeybees, may be settled in court.

Environmental and food safety groups have filed a legal challenge in Alameda County Superior Court urging the California Department of Pesticide Regulation to stop approving neonicotinoid pesticides pending its completion of a comprehensive scientific review of impacts to honeybees.
