Environmental group's report: pesticide industry slowing bee protection efforts

A report issued last week by the Washington, D.C.-based environmental group, Friends of the Earth, charged that the pesticide industry is delaying efforts to save the nation's threatened bee population.

"Pesticide companies are successfully pulling the wool over the eyes of our policy makers, which has resulted in a patchwork of initiatives by our state and federal government that do little to curb or restrict pesticides," said Tiffany Finck-Hayes, an officer with the Friends of the Earth.
