Highly Hazardous Pesticides

Highly Hazardous Pesticides

For decades, the distribution and use of hazardous pesticides has been an issue of concern. Since its founding in 1982, Pesticide Action Network (PAN) has been the civil society organisation (CSO) most steadily and continuously calling for effective international action towards the elimination of hazardous pesticides. PAN has been one of the key driving forces among non governmental organisations (NGOs) for improving plant protection policies towards safer, socially just and economically viable pest management systems. PAN International developed a definition of “Highly Hazardous Pesticides” with a more comprehensive set of indicators to achieve a list of HHP’s based on the PAN list of indicators.
