This World Food Day, we say celebrate & berate

This Sunday is World Food Day. It is a day to renew our commitment to ending the root causes of hunger.

It is also an opportunity to highlight the true costs of pesticide-dependent agriculture, and the corporate-controlled food system that goes with it. At PAN we're doing two things: celebrating bees and berating the Big 6. Join us!

Celebrate Bees

Honey bees pollinate one in very three bites we eat, and they need our help.

Bee Discussion Guide

On this World Food Day (or on U.S. Food Day, which is a new initiative on Oct. 24th) we invite you to dedicate the conversation around your dinner table to honey bees, the pollinators responsible for much of the food we eat. Download the bees dinner discussion guide.

Why not celebrate the variety and abundance made possible by these noble and necessary creatures? Invite friends and family over for a meal and reflect on the various ways we rely on bees for daily nourishment.

  • How do they impact our lives?
  • What can we do to help them survive the current crisis they face?

Berate the Big 6

For decades the world has been trapped on a toxic treadmill by a pesticide industry peddling an unsustainable system of agriculture. Honey bees are clearly being impacted; pesticide exposure is a co-factor in their recent, dramatic die-off.

How else has your life been directly affected by the "Big 6" corporations dominating our food system? Share your message for Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and BASF and we'll deliver it!
