Dr. Marcus A. Coleman currently serves as a Professor of Practice in the School of Liberal Arts at Tulane University with a joint appointment in the Department of Economics and the Strategy, Leadership, and Analytics Minor. Coleman also serves on the faculty advisory committee for the Environmental Students Program. Growing up in Louisiana’s rural delta region, Coleman understands the disproportionate nature of agriculture and food system opportunities available to socially disadvantaged communities. This understanding drives his broad interests in fostering healthy, strong, and sustainable community-based food systems that are inclusively beneficial to all, economically, socially, environmentally, and politically via research, teaching, and outreach activities that focus on leadership and equity in agriculture and the food system.
