Gretta Goldenman

Gretta’s keen interest in curbing the harmful impacts of chemicals dates back to 1982, when she was instrumental in the founding of Pesticide Action Network (PAN) International. In 1984, she helped co-found PANNA and served on its original board of directors. After studying law and public policy at UC Berkeley, she moved to Brussels to work inside the European Commission’s Environment Directorate. She founded Milieu Consulting in 1994 to provide legal and policy expertise to the EU and other public institutions in environment protection, public health, human rights, and social and economic policy. Her innovative and creative approaches have led to new insights and effective action on longstanding problems, e.g. her work with the Global PFAS Science Panel in proposing the concept of essential use to guide the phase-out of uses of PFAS. She has significant non-profit advisory and board experience and is pleased to be back on PANNA’s board.
