Allison Davis joins PAN as new Executive Director

Following an extensive national search,  Pesticide Action Network (PAN) is pleased to announce that Allison Davis will serve as Executive Director for PAN’s North America Regional Center beginning December 1, 2023.

Allison impressed us with her strong collaborative leadership approach, deep knowledge of the field, and passion to help PAN meet the challenges ahead. She brings with her many years of program leadership in climate justice grantmaking and field-building, most recently serving as Director of Programs and Learning at Global Greengrants Fund (GGF). Her wide knowledge of global civil society efforts in environmental justice work is an incredible opportunity to deepen PAN’s work in numerous ways.

PAN’s board president Kyle Powys Whyte sees a strong match, stating that “Allison brings an incredible repertoire of skills, knowledge, and vision to PAN – and most importantly, is a leader with a proven track record of generating change in the very areas that PAN focuses its mission on.”

Our staff have already had the opportunity to work collaboratively with Allison for nearly a decade in her previous program leadership capacity with Global Greengrants Fund. PAN has been honored to support the work of GGF, which moves funding to grassroots, Indigenous-led environmental justice projects around the world. The strong relationship, built through years of partnership, left us with no doubt about Allison’s strong commitment to global peoples’ movements for a safe, just and healthy farm and food system.

After years of admiring and interacting with PAN, I want to say what an honor it is to join the team. PAN’s reputation is so strong in the US and around the world, and I saw it firsthand in the way people networked with PAN to connect local to global advocacy. They work where things connect: human rights and environmental health; farming and pesticide science; local foodways and climate change… Everything about food is connected. It is the collaborative way of working that brought me to PAN, and I am so honored to be a part of it.”

PAN is looking forward to this next organizational chapter under Allison’s leadership—and we are thrilled to introduce her to the PAN community over the coming months. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Allison to the PAN family, as we continue to build towards our vision, together.
