Sofia has served over 25 years in state government admin, leading, coaching and providing workforce development services in California. She led various public service programs which served veterans and farmworkers. While leading outreach programs to farmworkers in California, the collaboration included working with Central Valley community-based organizations in support of farmworkers and various underrepresented groups. Over the past two decades her volunteer experience includes volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), and local church groups. In 2008, she obtained an MBA from CSU, Fresno. She grew up speaking both English and Spanish, and has studied French.
